Kumamoto Cha

SEIKOUEN
Seikoen tea garden is situated in the southern part of Kumamoto prefecture. The differential characteristic of this tea garden is a very careful attitude to the process of cultivating and producing of tea. They make a deep mulching up to 1 meter and enrich soil with the compost. It lets the roots of the tea bush to breathe and feed. There is only one leaf harvest in a year in spring on the 2-nd of May when it is the best period for gathering. Two weeks before the gathering the tea bushes are covered with straw. It protects the tea leaves from the sun, makes it special and gives the rare taste to Warakake tea. And a special drying at the roaster creates a delicious aroma. We name this tea "Well-kept Tea".
